hi
Iam importing database into some file (ex: d:\rrr.dmp).
Iwant to see the tables description and data of the tables with this .dmp file.Iam using oracle9i database.
how can i open this file.what i have to select for OPENWITH OPTION.
when i click the filename it is opening with some visual studio.net.and nothing is there in that
can any one help me in this

I have no idea what you are talking about.

Are you using EXP/IMP tools? then the above process is said to be exporting.

If you are talking about the exp/imp utilities, use INDEXFILE option.

what i have to select for OPEN WITH OPTION

I believe that the OP is talking about MS Windows; in Windows Explorer, right-click onto the .DMP file and choose "Open with ... Choose Program".

If that's it, don't waste your time. DMP files are to be read by Oracle's IMP utility and nothing else (you could, of course, use any editor, but you're close to see nothing useful in there).
