Hi all

I have a database db1 in server1
and want to move the db1 to server2


How can i accomplish this..could any one explaine me in detail...

If the OS is different, export/import or transportable tablespaces are the only option.
Else
You can just copy the datafiles,controlfile,log files etc to another machine and 'build' your database there.
You can use RMAN to duplicate

If the databse version is 10g.
You can use rman on different os.
