Hi ,
Does anyone has anyidea how to do various validations on a segment level for KeyFlexfeild.
I went thru 2-3 standard packages
fnd_flex_keyval,fnd_flex_ext,and fnd_flex_key_api.all of them do validations but at a segment level they only check if a particlar segment is enabled and not expired.and crossvalidation rule for the full flexfield.
But it does not check if the 'allow posting' flag is set to Yes or not.
If the 'allow posting flag ' is set to No then the account flexfeild should be invalid with the error message that allow posting is not enabled for a particlar segment and giving that segment name..like the standard packages do if a particular segment of an account is disabled or fail the cross validation rule.
Does anyone know of any other Standard package that does segment level validation.

Sorry, but that is not strictly speaking correct. An account with the "Allow Posting" flag set to "No" is a perfectly valid account.
As an example, the organisation that I am working with just now has a six-digit Natural Account segment, where the first four digits denote a category (e.g. Travel and Accommodation) and the last two digits give more detail (e.g. 01=Air Fares, 02=Rail Fares, 03=Coach Fares, 04=Taxi Fares, 05=Hire Car, 06=Personal Car, 21=Hotel, etc.). Each category has an account ending 99 which has the "Allow Posting" flag set to "No" but the "Allow Budgeting" flag set to "Yes". This allows the managers to set a budget for the category (without having to define the detailed breakdown) but to monitor the actual spend at the detail level.
