hi,

can we backup the temp tablespace using RMAN...?
will export utility consider objects in the temp tablespace for export backup..?

plz help...

Why would you back up a temp tbs?
the key is in its name, i.e. it is Temporary, transient, impermanent ..... fleeting .... err momentary ....... that's all i've got Smile

The point is that you don't backup temp tablespaces, you simply recreate them if needs be.

Just to add, RMAN will not even 'see' the temp tablespace

RMAN> connect target sys/sys

connected to target database: MUTATION (DBID=2135294536)

RMAN> report schema;

using target database controlfile instead of recovery catalog
Report of database schema

Definately time to read a decent book on Oracle.
To answer the question, NO.
Export will NOT see anything in the temp tablespace.
