Hi,

Iam preparing an FSG report wherein column set caculation is required. Iam not able to set the calculations for particular column "Last year % Change"

What amount type do i need to select if iam seeting this column set?
Calculation is:
Actual From last year - actual from this year / actual from last year into 100.

i tried using
(+) for actual from last year
(-) for actual from this year
(/) actual from last year.

but not able to put *into 100???????

please advise.

Take a look at the forms.

On the Define Columns form, you could use one of these:

Factor=Percentiles

Amount Type=<one of the %Variance types>. Unfortunately there is not one for this/last year

Percent of Column
OR on the Calculations form, you could use one of these:

(x) CONSTANT 100

(%) calculate % of column

You will find examples of some of these in the pre-defined Column Sets, those where Help, About This Record reveals that they were Created by and Updated by AUTOINSTALL.

Be careful which one you use. If you go your original route, you will hit problems when adding rows together; If row 100 has a calculated %Variance of 30 and row 110 has a calculated %Variance of 50, then the sum of these two rows will give a calculated %Variance of 80 (50+30). Printing one column as a percentage of another should eliminate this. You will need to experiment to find which solution works best for you. I would suggest that you use one of the techniques used in the pre-defined Column Sets.

How can i take % of columns cos my formula is

1.(+) Actual From Last Year
offset -12

2.(-) Actual

3. (/) Actual from last year

4. X 100 constant.

I have gone thru the sandbox but could not find any column with this type of caculations.

iam getting the output but its not correct. I am not sure the formula is correct or not?

Help..

Percentiles will do the equivalent of multiplying by 100. Whereas 30/100 = 0.30, 30%100 = 30.0
Please look at the predefined Column Set called "Annual Comparative QTD, YTD".

If Column 10 is Last Year, Column 20 is This Year and Column 30 is the Variance (Column 10 - Column 20) then you can define Column 40 as being Column 30 as a Percentage of Column 10.
