Question regarding cluster databases:
When a failure occurs, we change the link to point to another node so that the database continues to be up and running. In such a case, do we have to change the host name(as the host name is registered with the listener) in the listerner.ora manually each time the failure occurs?

What is the use of RAC then?
You need to do nothing.
TAF ( Transparent application failover ) is supposed to kick-in and do the job.
