Hi experts,

Actually i found a similiar problem in this forum, and the person who asked this question is already found the solution, however, the solution is not posted.

Hope you guys can help me =)

I fail to import a dmp file into my local db. The error msg is IMP-00002: failed to open localdb.dmp file for read. Import file: EXPDAT.DMP >
....

The file is exported from Oracle 8(i), and I am using 10(g). May I know what should I do now.

Please advice.

Thanks & Regards,
Alicia.

What does your import command look like? Does the path to the dump file have spaces in it?

Hi ebrian,

Thanks for your posting! I have requested moderator to close this thread as I found that I made the careless mistake myself.

The command as below:

imp intra_owner_local/owner123@INTRANETLOCAL FILE=billingLocal.dmp fromuser=intra_owner touser=intra_owner_local;

I have solved the problem.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks!

Cheers,
Alicia
