Upgrade from Oracle 9i R2 to Oracle 10g R2 [message #176351]

Hi,

I am planning to upgrade 9i R2 DB to 10g R2 DB in windows 2000.
I am not aware of the patches to be installed before upgrade.
Please guide me.

But that doc doesn't contain any information about patches.
Is it necessary that patches should be applied before upgrade?

First upgrade your database, then download the 10.2.0.2 (or later) patch-set from Metalink and install it as well.

And check the support matrix on otn.oracle.com. When you go in to download the database, there is a link for the support matrix. Click it and plug in your info, to double check support for your version OS and DB. It will also list the various db patch numbers that exist, and the minimum one required for your selected OS and OS service pack.
