Hi,
I've just installed Oracle10g Express Edition on a SUSE9.3 Server. The Server is accessible via LAN but does only have the w3m browser available; no screen or keyboard is attached since i completely configure it via lan.
When calling the http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex/ in w3m via putty, the dbms responds, but since w3m doesnt support java script, i can't configure oracle. Is there a way to allow network access to the database home page without using the web interface? Any config file entry? Because when I try to call http://192...:8080/apex/ I get only an error that this page is not available, even if i shutdown the firewall.
Thanks, Gerry

I have not done any 10g express on suse.
So i have no idea about the requirement to configure that stuff.
I may be pathetically wrong. You can install firefox or any java enabled browser in the lan box.
Set your display to a local pc (use something like Exceed for a windows pc).Invoke the browser~
Edit:
Checked with firefox on sunblade to my desktop Fedora Core
and
From FC2 to Windows 2000 using Exceed.
I was able to invoke the firefox.
Not sure what you want to do with that.
Regards~
