Remember when I asked you this question on Mon, 24 April 2006?Quote: | What other ORacle products do you have on your PC? have you installed an Oracle database on your PC? Which one? Did you use different Oracle homes?
| It would have been much easier for everyone if you had answered it. My fault really, I should have kept pressing you for an answer.
You HAVE to install the Oracle products in age order, this means, you MUST install 6i products before 9i, and 9i products before 10g.
I suggest you remove ALL oracle products from your machine, make sure that your registry is empty of Oracle keys, and then start again (you also have to reboot your PC from cold at least twice to make sure that the registry is truely clear of Oracle bits and pieces). Install the 6i database (if you wish to have it installed) then Reports 6i, then 6i Forms. Then install the 9i database, then Forms and Reports 9i. Then finish off with 10g database and Forms and Reports 10g.

Thanks for the reply.
Might be my way of presentation is wrong in my previous post. Sorry.
Actually i wanted to say that i m able to install oracle 9i but not Dev 6i. When i install Dev 6i i removed oracle from system including 'c:' drive, 'C:\Programing files' and from 'registry' and shut down the system and again i started the system to install Forms 6i.
Even then i m getting the error.
hope i clearly mentioned my query now.
Note: I m new to this forum, i joined only yesterday. Actually i m not the one who initiated this subject in this forum. I got this forum just by searching for the subjected error.
Thanks
Baz
