How do i create a user with sysdba privilege ?
where can I find orapwd utility in Oracle 10. Am new in using Oracle and I have to verify some oracle security settings and acess limits.
Please help me

init.ora file in the path /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/dbs has to
log_archive_start = true but this is commented out in My case.
Can I uncomment it ? Does it affect any thing else ?

To be very honest you want to learn a lot on a fly and it's really not a good way.

Read the documentation related to user creation.

All the executables are stored at $ORACLE_HOME/bin location

Depends on your requirement , read the docs related to Archive/No archive mode.

And just to add , try to read the manuals so that you can understand things completely.

Thanks,
I tried logging in as sys and system user, but the only use given to me did not have any sysdba privileges.

Now logged in using /nolog option and then gave my user the sysdba permission.

I have another doubt, any article to read on this is also welcome Smile

when I logged in as / nolog , and did show user it gave me "" but then I could connect to sys as sysdba?

Is this the correct ? Can this logging as / nolog be removed ?
