1. how much conditions cause oracle to change the entry of the controlfile ?? i know that : checkpoint, alter the database structure ,change the database distionary .... pls to replenish !!!!

i want to know when do the oracle to update the controlfile
on the operate system level . every time i restart my oracle 9i in windows xp , i notice that controlfile is update to the latest file modified time , but i see one day has past , but controlfile modified time is old time still ...so tell me why !!!! thanks a lot!!!!
