I installed Oracle 10gr2 client software on mandrake (10.2) Linux. Installation is successful, but everytime I run SQLPLUS, it just hangs there, and never propmt me back for login information. Does anyone experience similar problem? Thanks.

do strace on that you may find the reason. try 10g instantclient it is easy no installation required , just unzip files into one directory and set the path accordingly , you will have client suitable for applications (odbc, oci etc.,)
