Hii all
thanks al for yr past replies

i had a problem in my installation to oracle 9.2 and developer 6i

i insatlled the developer 6i first on d:\orant

then after finish i installed the system 9.2 on c:\oracle\ora92

then when i run the form or reports or sql plus 8.0

i give me the error of
"tns names could not resolve service name"

although i can connect using sql plus of the system

Every oracle client installed (different versions of sqlplus , forms/reports whatever) will need a seperate tnsnames.ora file.
It is becuase, you will install every client product in a seperate ORACLE_HOME.
So copy your tnsnames.ora file ( from whichever ORACLE_HOME that works) across all client installations.
