hi all,
probably a bit of a daft question.
I have approx 15 GB of tablespace to export to disk. will this create a 15 GB export file or is the dump file larger than the tablespace?

Depends.
export will dump only the table data. For index, only ddl is exported and will be rebuilt during import.
So, the question is out of 15Gb tablespace how much is actually used (only table data).
