Hi all,

I'm trying to create a source module on OWB10g (10.1) that connects to SQL Server. I have a database link that works in SQL, but I get the following API error when I try to select a database link for the module.

API4020: The database link type is not consistent with the module type

I'm at a loss and there is very little info out there to help with this.

Specs:
OWB10g release 1 (v10.1)
Oracle DB: 9.2
SQL Server DB: 2000
my OS: XP Pro

Thanks for any help - and let me know if you need more info.

Joe.

For future reference - The problem I had in creating this data source was that I was trying to use the source named 'SQL Server'. The solution was to use the ODBC source, since I was connecting via ODBC, and not use SQL Server. Problem solved.

Thanks,
Joe.

>what's the use of SQL Server data source....?

good question - It does seem irrelevent if we need to connect via ODBC.

IS there any other way to connect to SQL server otherthan ODBC? I mean to use SQl Server DataSource directly instead of ODBC....
