I don't understand the control values used in building column sets in FSG. I created an 8 column set for a series of similar reports. The column set headings include 2 time periods (quarter to date and year to date) and both budget and actual data. What control values should be used for each column?

Control Values are used to "Control" which Budget dataset is reported. Suppose that you were writing an FSG to compare the budgets for this year and last year. In the column for "Last Year", specify a Control Value of 1. In the column for "This Year", specify a Control Value of 2. Then, when you define the Report (bringing together the Row Set and the Column Set), you click on the "Control Values" button, and specify that Control Value 1 should point to the 2005 budget and Control Value 2 should point to the 2006 budget.
