Hi Friends
After install oracle 8i on windows 2000. i am trying to login with user name and password Scott and tiger respectively. after that i am geting TNS12541:Portal adopter error coming. how can i resolve it .
pls help me..

Check if the Windows oracle service has started.
Also check if the listener service has started.
Check your tnsnames.ora file and check if the
entry in there is right.
Try tnsping at the dos command prompt and see if
it responds.
