What is the difference between SPFILE and PFILE? Both of them have initialization parameters.Then Why we have to use two files ?

Actually I think that the OP actually does read the documentation, however he/she has problems understanding certain bits. That's fair play.
The problem is that the questions that venkatraghavan asks makes it look like he/she has done absolutely no previous reading on the subject other than to have heard the term(s)

If you can make your questions less generic and actually show that you have already put some effort in to investigating the answers to your questions for yourself, I'd bet that the answers coming from the many experts on this board would be far more detailed and explanatory than a link to the documentation. A very large percentage of your questions are answered with such links, I cannot believe that you don't now at least try to read this stuff.
Try to explain what you don't understand and why.
e.g.
'I don't understand the difference between pfile and spfile. They both look the same to me and appear to do the same thing. I have read the documentation which says:
but I can't see where the difference is. '
I'll guarantee you that you will get loads of people giving more than just documentation links if you post your questions in this manner.
