Cannot start ArcSDE service, oracle errors 1157 & 1110 [message #155981]

WE use Oracle 10g with ArcSDE 9.1.
After backing up our systems over xmas I started up the Oracle database and then tried to start up ArcSDE service with no luck.
Looking at the error logs came across 1157 and 1110 - cannot identify file and datafile 23 being the file.
I am fairly new to Oracle and we have a small set up here.
I cannot find the datafile and need help what i can do next.
