Q-1.
This task is assigned by my senior DBA that
i must configure oracle server to email him
status of database (statistics)and user logon
information after every 40 minutes.
my senior DBA is out of city and he want to aware of
database condition.
How can i do this in 9i-release.2

Q-2.
How can i make my database available on net.I mean
our head office is in other city and they wanted
to access our database,what should i do to do this.

For Your Q2.

First find and establish connection between Your HO and
your place. Leased line Connectivity kind of thing will work.

Then it is as good as configuring your local machines.
If you want to put your DB on net, then you have to take more
precautions. What is the OS , on which your DB is residing.

Better the above kind of connectivity will be best,as
only your HO is going to access.

And for Question 1:

Look into Oracle's manuals for UTL_SMTP package. It provides the facility to send e-mails.

Q1 - Oracle Enterprise Manager can do that.
You do not have to code a single line. It has an email alert system, where you can easily set many different conditions that fires the alert or a status report.
