Hi to all,
We are using database server oracle 9i.
Now we are getting the problems in connectivity with database.
We are using Forms 6i.
When we connect to databse whether on SQL prompt or from forms 6i it is taking time. And due this problem our application is not running.
Before all this happen i store the 9-10 .bmp images(each has 1.5 mb appx) in one of our major table. Now i removed those images from that table and also increased the size of system, temporary tablespace but the result is same.

I just want to check it out whether this problem is due to network connection or with databse.

I pinged the ip's of the servers while connecting to database and it seems to be absoluetly fine.

Now i am confused that what exactly the problem is.

So pls anyone tell me that what steps should i take to sort this matter.

Karan.

few points to check would be:
1. what is ur server configuratin? post output of show sga command.how much ram,and other hardware u have for oracle server?

2. whether any error has been logged in alert log file?

3 how much free space is there in all the tablespaces?

4. when did this problem start happening?

5. what are other applications running on the machine that has oracle database installed? -did u install forms on same machine that has oracle db?

6 what is the memory/cpu usage u see when trying to connect oracle?
