Hi,

Oracle has an utility EXP. It can be used to backup a table.

Dose Oracle lock the table to prevent other users from accessing/updating this table during exporting the table by EXP?

Sort of. But not exactly. Export/Import is never been a backup tool.

No.
It does not lock the table.
But when you use consistent=y during export, data is exported as of that point-in-time ( the updates
after the export started are not included in dump file).
