1- i took a cold database backup from the old server.
2- i made an export for the database on the old server.
3- i installed oracle 9i server on the new winxp server
4- from here shall i import the databse export file already token ,or create a new databse with the same name as the old one , use the cold database backup ,specify the init.ora file and startup

If properly used, both should work.
If the database is large, just use coldbackup.
