i want to confirm which server mode do my db server runing on !
so i "select server ,username from v$sessions " on client machine
results :

SERVER USERNAME
--------- ------------------------------
DEDICATED SYS
SHARED SYSTEM
DEDICATED SCOTT
NONE SYSTEM
NONE LEE
DEDICATED SYS
DEDICATED LEE

so i dont sure it meaning on server colum :

shared ,none , what it stands each ????

and how i determine share mode or dedicate mode !!??

Hi,

Server Modes:

DEDICATED = Session is connected to a dedicated server process

SHARED = Session is currently connected to a shared server process

NONE = Session in shared mode - not currently connected to a shared server process

PSEUDO = Session marked for kill/ also used for lightweight sessions that use OCI connection pooling

otherwise , how can i learning about so senior knowledge of oracle ..... or can anyone recommend me some oracle book to read.... appreciate it !!!
