Hello All,
i have the following parameter settings

SQL> show parameter audit

NAME TYPE VALUE
------------------------------------ ------- ------------------------------
audit_file_dest string ?/rdbms/audit
audit_trail string NONE
transaction_auditing boolean TRUE

I also get a large amount of audit files (I think) in
$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/audit.

are the files related to the AUDIT parameters?

can some give an explanation of what is happeneing.
I see a conflict with audit_trail=none and file generation,

Don't you also have AUDIT_SYS_OPERATIONS set (introduced in Oracle 9i)?
