Hi,
I have created new DB on Oracle 10g (10.1)
and then set up network connect to connect db using Enterprise manager. I have grant dba ,connect, resource, select any dictionary privileges to system role. But when i m trying to connect using Enterprise Manager ,is still complaining about
Grant "Select any dictionary" privileges to the user(system). Bit strange, as i can connect very well using Command prompt from Win XP MS dos prompt to the remote database.
am i missing something?
thanks

MHE,
Yes, i have tried using sysdba it works fine from both(EM,Dos prompt).
Even it works fine from SQLPLUS command prompt from dos prompt
when i have tried to use the same username/pwd (system/manager) from Enterprise Manager , it keeps showing "grant select any dictionary privilege which i did using sysdba and commited.
thanks

Mine does that as well. I can log into web based EM using 'sys / as sysdba' but I can not use the owner of our schema 'oradba' no matter what I grant that user. I think you may be able to connect as the user 'system' also.
I am going to release 10.2.0.1 to see if it gets better. EM runs when it feels like it, and that is not too often. I have not been able to determine what makes EM feel like running???
