I'm doing a powerpoint on Oracle DBA skills for a bunch of VMS people, and want to put a graphic in showing (a) the bits of the instance and the assorted datafiles/redo logs etc
and
(b) how an instance talks out to ODBC, JAVA, OEM etc via SQL*NET like a network constellation pic.
I could do the pictures myself by hand, but am running short of time! If any kind person has these two grapics, or could point me to some on the internet I would be eternally grateful! Cheers. Simon

you're quote right for written documentation, but I've gone through the html/pdf doc's at www.oracle.com and the place is totally bereft of pictures! I have now found an "instance" picture, does anybody have an online graphic of the oracle data dictionary, circa V8 or so. The v9/v10 ones are way ttooo complicated and full of weird stuff people barely use.
