hi,
1.db size is 40 GB,how many hrs it to take hot backup
and logical exp backup
2.how frequent should take backup while per day data growing is 1 GB.
3.how many backup copy we should have

Hi,
1. Nobody can answer such a question without knowing how fast your tapes are, how fast your disks are, transfer rates, etc. Best would be to test it yourself and see how long it takes.
2. If your DB is in archlog mode, a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly backup cycle should be good enough.
3. It depends on how important the data is and how much money you have. One or 2 copies are normally more than adequate.
