I need a help with this error:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
This is a brand new instance, and I am able to connect from EM on my laptop, but not SQLplus. I could also use sqlplus/ nolog, but nothing else - no other tool can connect - locally on the server or from anywhere else.
I do believe I have all correct entries in the tns.ora.
Why I'm not able to connect from sqlplus locally on the box as well.
Any help is appreciated.

EM and sqlplus may use different tnsnames.ora ( depends on you configured). Make sure all entries are same.

Where would I find those two tnsnames.ora file?

A weird but useful suggestion in your case..

Search on your system.

As for oracle it will be on %ORACLE_HOME%/network/admin directory.
