6 month contract to hire position in St. Louis, MO No Subcontractors; No Visa sponsorship available.
Job description:
Support a complex environment and the applications associated with that environment. Provide timely administration and support for end users. Provide various levels of security and auditing for the various databases. Must be familiar with production control and change management procedures. Must be able to evaluate systems specifications, input/output processes, and work parameters for hardware/software compatibility and provide optimum performance for systems being managed. Candidate will be required to prepare and maintain operating standards and manuals, procedural write-ups, disaster-recovery procedures and other documentation; and provide instruction as to the appropriate use of these materials. Must maintain a high degree of integrity to safeguard the Company’s position on confidential matters. Develop and maintain customer relationships and understand customer business needs.
Required Technical skills
*Oracle 9i (5+ years experience with 2 or more in database design and tuning)
*Oracle certification desired
*Strong UNIX system administration skills (Solaris 8 or newer)
*SQL Backtrack
*Good written and verbal communication skills
*Experience troubleshooting network and operating systems problems as they relate to database functionality
Desired Technical Skills
*Autosys (scheduling tool) experience
*Experience with Storage Area Networks
*Experience with System management tools
*Project Management skills
