Hi guys!

I have never created a database (oracle 9.0.2) on sun solaris machine.

I have done on windows machine usin dbca, not no on sun machine.
Can anyone tell me how can i do that.

Also the machine has 11i (11.5.9) apps instance and i have to do without breaking it. this make my issue more serious.

Need help and step by step instruction.. plz help me

Thanks for the answer

I forgot to mention, this is a remote machine on which i connected through some keys (puttey key session)

Also

Do we need to set oracle sid of new DB 1st.
$ export ORACLE_SID=dev101ee

Please guide

Yes You have to set the SID as mentioned in the doc.

Also, when using putty for connecting to remote machine, are you able to get the GUI. To check on $ prompt type 'clock'. If clock appears then GUI is enabled, otherwise you have to proceed in the command line interface itself. In order to use dbca, you may need to enable GUI. Tools are available for this... one such tool is HummingBird.

Hi

Yeah I cannot see clock.
I don't think GUI is enabled.

Can you tell me how can i create database now
