Hi there!

I've got the backup(automatic incremental back up) of an Oracle10g database called DATABASE_1 from failed Oracel10g server on win server 2003(SERVER_1). I installed a new Oracle10g database server on a new win server(SERVER_2).

Which is the best way to restore the DATABASE_1 to the new Oracel10g installation on SERVER_2 as it was on SERVER_1 by using my available backups.

Thanx in advance

Did you took the backups using RMAN or did that manually i.e. by backup commands on SQL prompt?

Also the following article may help:

Thanx for your reply.

Back ups were taken by using Oracle-suggested Backups feature in Oracle10G - they are stored as Backup Sets in the flash recovery area. I've got the level 0 and all incremental back ups.

I just need to get the data stored in the backups to another live database on another server. I'm not interested in building the new database with the same structure as the old one.

Any suggestions?

Thanx
