I'm installing oracle 9i on Windows. The configuration assistant step 2 of 5 dialog displays. It is asking me for my user name, password, and service.
How do I determine what my SERVICE is, to enter into the dialog?
It also says for the SERVICE, I can enter <host>:<port>:<sid>
I tried that, but I am also getting a messages stating it cannot resolve my SID. So how do I figure out what my SID is?
Is there an INI file or some configuration text file with this information?

did you tried entering any value there? say... orcl.
When You are installing 9i server fot the first time, you will not be having any SID pre-configured on system. 9i Installer will configure that for you after oyu provide the name of it.
