i have a problem that is :- when i install any P2P software like imesh, kazaa , limewire , Grokster , Morpheus , Warez .. etc

Oracle is damaged , corrupted !! the connection with the listener is broken ... however , i can't connect to Oracle anymore!!

and i have to FORMATE !!!! and re-install ORACLE again !!

so would anyone help me please

because i need to install these P2P softwares in addition to ORACLE ....

Check your internet explorer ... go 'tools > Internet Options > Connections > LAN Settings > Advanced > Exceptions' make sure that you PC is in the list of 'Do not use proxy server for addresses beginning with:'

I think that this may be your problem.

Hello Mr. David...
thanx alot 4 ur advice ,
but i do not connect to the internet through proxy!!!
i connect to the internet via NAT...
so i do not think that it's my problem !!!
so , what do u think ?

Have a look at your 'hosts' file. It should be in your <windows>/system32/drivers/etc directory. Make sure that your P2P software has not 'hijacked' your 127.0.0.1 IP address.

I always make sure I have a clear/clean copy of my 'hosts' file as a backup as too many P2P programs add hundreds of entries to your 'hosts' file because of the spyway they contain. Simply edit the file and delete all the entries except the 127.0.0.1 entry which should say:
# For example:
#
#      102.54.94.97     rhino.acme.com          # source server
#       38.25.63.10     x.acme.com              # x client host

127.0.0.1       localhost
