After installing 9R2 patchset (9.2.0.7) some objects (packages, package bodies and views) in SYS schema obtained invalid status. It happened after running catpatch.sql script. utlrp was launched also. So recompilation doesn't help. Seems some objects are missing so they cause compilation errors. What can be done to help this?

What are those objects?
In some cases, you might not chosen the right server option( like xmldb).
Did you try to compile them manually?
Did you issue startup migrate?

Yes, i used startup migrate. The objects are - many views beginning with ku$_, then sys.dbms_repcat, sys.dbms_defergen, dbms_ias and some more packages and bodies. I used usual options, to say more some other our instances have such objects as valid.

You will need to check with Individual Objects and their error codes and then proceed .. There might be some objects that could be missing..

Yes, some references while checking indicate that some objects are missing. I just don't understand the reason.

Every object that is Invalid / missing will refer to extended functionality within oracle like Java / XML / Replication etc., you then need to proceed with the corresponding Oracle provided script files to re-create/ fix those (if u need those functionalities ) ...for example : utlrepcat.sql will create replication related stuff ...initjvm.sql will create java related stuff etc.,

Hope that helps

Acually ..tell us this ..
is any of our db functionalities throwing you errors ? ? if yes paste the errors ... there is no problem if some extended functionalities related packages / procs being invalid ..as we dont use them ..
