Here is a Oracle 9.2.0.1 setup disk on the LAN.
I want to install it to my computer, which has Oracle 8i client already.
I selected Oracle 9i Database in the setup software.
Then the setup program exit without any alert.
Why?

There is the same things after running disk1\install\win32\setup.exe.
After I selected Enterprise Version and next, the program exit.

I copied the setup files into my computer.
And then begin install, the same things happened.
About 36% of the process , the program exit.

hi,

First of all stop all the services of oracle database 8i which is running on your PC and then while installing 9i specify another home for 9i database which should not be same as that of oracle 8i.... you should also not specify the same name of the database which is already running on your PC.

You can try now ...Best of luck Smile

Note:- I am running oracle 9i and 10g database on my windows XP but name of both the database is different. and at a time i m starting only one database service and stoping other so that my PC dont get slow... well the database on my pc is only for my purpose(i.e to test) which dont contain any real time or production data.
