Hi.....

Recently we upgraded one of our databases from 9.0.1.6 to 9.2.0.6 and now we are getting ORA-03106: fatal two-task communication protocol error when we try to run some perl applications . Those applications ran perfectly on the old version. We are using RH Linux EL AS 3 and the perl version is 5.6.1.

Do we have to update our perl version ?

I am not aware of any specific requirement for Perl in 9.2.0.6.
It should work.
How did you upgrade?
are all OCI binaries properly linked?
Did you do anychanges to DBI/DBD modules?
is there is difference in NLS settings?

Yes i figured out that there is a Character set difference. Old version used US7ASCII, and new version using WE8ISO8859P1.
This may be the problem. Thanks for the Informations u provided.
