hi

i develope a simple form and when i try to run it so it give the following error

frm-30188: could not create warning message file
c:\test_emp.err

it was working fine but next morning it give me this error

now i am amized where this error came from and why?
any one cane help?

Verify that the TMP and TEMP environments have been set and that your userid has write access to them, and there is disk space available.

hi David

well i didn't understand what is TMP or TEMP enviorment

i ahve disk space and also acces to this form which is lying on server.i have it .fmx version

Okay .. what version of forms are you running? It is running client server or 3-tier?

yeagh thanks david

it is client server i have dev 60 and 8.1.5

infact david this error is removed on other morning but i wanted to know why why why ?? because this kind of error came a lot and some says that this error came because of improper developer installation but deve insatalltion is quite str forward so if u can give me theroical back so that will be reall learning not rout learning

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > System. Go to the Advanced tab and there will be an Environment Variables button. Press it and you will see the User Variables. There should be a TEMP and a TMP that point to an area to which you have update access (and some space).

If you are running your client on the server box and accessing it via X-windows, then you need to have write access to some space on the server, there must be some space available, and there must be inodes available to which the work files can be attached.

I hope that explains it to you. If not, go and talk with your server people. It is not an installation problem, but it can be considered a configuration problem (not enough inodes).
