Hi,

I need some information regarding comparing schemas in database. Is there any tool available which can help me compare two schemas not just at the structural level but also the data. I am aware of toad and DBdiff but just wanted to know if anyone is using a better tool. The tool should be able to compare the data in the two schemas and also generate scripts to insert, update or delete data in order to sync the data. TOAD does the comparision at object level but not the data. Please let me know if there is any such tool..

Thanks in advance....

You can easily create your own. Read this article for details - http://www.orafaq.com/articles/archives/000065.htm:

"In this article James continues to explore the Oracle's Metadata API and provides a powerful function to compare objects and schemas and print the DDL required to bring them in sync."

Best regards.

You can also use toad to compare the schema objects.

Under menu DBA-> Compare schemas.
