My problem is to establish asynchronous replication between two Oracle7 databases (7.3.2). They have a poor international communication link, and the offshore machine is small and fairly full.
How big, as a percentage of original data, is the snapshot? Can I create the initial snapshot to tape? Can I copy the snapshot to tape and load that into my onshore database? Can I export, then import, the database and then 'synchronize' the two instances?
If you don't have the answer then pointers to sources of information will be gratefully received. I have searched OTN and Metalink with minimal success in answering my specific questions.
