I have recently joined a pharmaceutical company as a Manager-MIS
The corporate objective is to outsource the ERP development (which is currently being done in-house costing plenty of time and resources and bringing about no significant productivity but significant problems.. for sure)
The inhouse ERP is being developed on Oracle/Develper 6i
My first job is to carefully take the controle of database administration which is currently in hands of developers (who are definitely aware of what's being done -- outsourcing!!!!)
Can you pls provide me the necessary guideline (Dos & Don'ts)
or a checklist which I can use to ensure transparent transfer of admin controls & development activities from "them" to myself.
As my first step I am planning to freeze the current database status and use visual basic for applications (Excel) to do day-to-day users reporting requirements "on ad hoc basis", in the meantime I will deal with external ERP solution suppliers .
