Hi to all..

Some one could tell me abt discoverer and reports 6i relation.
Are they both depend on each other.
But i m using oracle 6i with out any discoverer server..
Wht are the "VALUE SETS"

Discoverer is more an Ad-Hoc reporting tool.
It is like MS Excel type of sheet, however, the its data is extracted directed from the database, once the data is retrieved, the end user can reformat the output, add calculation, summation, pivots, graphs etc ..
It is categorized as an OLAP tool

such manipulation is not possible in Oracle reports being a static reporting tool

There is a lot about these two products that you can read,, refer to OTN
