I am getting an error when using the oradim at the windows xp command prompt.

DIM-00018: Failed to stop Oracle Service.
O/S-Error: (OS 1051) A stop control has been sent to a service that other running services are dependent on.

I use this oradim command:
F:\>oradim -shutdown -sid IDMND -shuttype SRVC,INST -shutmode A

How do I know what services and how to stop that services which has dependencies?

Thanks.

HI

Get into the Services panel in Administrative tools. Select the service you want to check & have a look at its properties & dependencies.

Hi Girish,

Thanks for your prompt response. I was able to see the dependencies on it. It seems that it is a console service and might not be covered by the oradim utility. How can I stop that services?

Thanks,
Warren
