hi,
I am using oracle 9i client to connect to a server which is coonected via VSAT and the avg ping responce is 600ms.My problem is that on one of my machines as soon i run a query after couple of seconds i get EOF on comm channel error and then i have to reconnect again.But the funny thing is that no such problem is faced on any other pc

You get 'End of Coommunication' when the database goes down on the other side, meaning the connectivity is broken.

but as i said that it is happening in a single PC and there are no issues regarding connectivity.Same database remains connected on other machine.

What OS?
Do check for the configuration & settings for both the machines & compare them for any visible discrepancy like connection timeout settings etc.
