hi,
I'm currently testing failover.
I'm working with oracle 9.2.0.6 on linux rh as3
The transmission mode is arch with 10 mn delay.
I have two questions to submit:
First:
In case the primary database stop brutally, last redo is not archive. So how apply it?
It must be copied (but which redo log, I have 8 group of redos?) and register to the standby.
How to do that?
second question:
what is the difference between
alter database commit to switchover to primary;
and
alter database activate physical standby database skip standby logfile;
U can use both commands to activate standby database.
how to choose between them?
