Hi,
a complete list is impossible to give. Since an Apps-DBA will have to respond to unexpected incidents.
It's a 'maintenance role', so there is no fixed list for what he'll do.
But let me try to sum up, my daily occupation.
1. Check Log files on DB, forms (if available), Apache, Conc. man.
2. Check workflow errors. I like to send errors to users first with the exception of some errors. So I'll get notified by workflow.
3. Check performance and space usage of the database
4. Work with apps-maintenance to resolve issues
5. Work with system-maintenance to resolve issues
6. Participate in projects, or discuss requested changes.
7. Tune conc. manager
8. Tune Apache Jserv
9. Test and apply patches
10. Test and install new customizations
Basically, you manage the database plus Apache (including Jserv and modplsql) plus Formsserver plus the Conc. manager including the Report Server.
Regards,
Arian
