Hello

A few weeks back we had an unexpected interruption which dropped our connect to our SAN. We then had to do several fsck's on several filesystems including '/u01'(oracle home).

We have scripts that run which drop the DB 'shutdown abort'these scripts which are for our 24X7 solution using timefinder(EMC software) were working fine before the fsck's.

My question is what is causing these errors and how if possible do I fix this? I have pasted the alert log entry for yesterday when the DB hangs.

Thanks In Advance

Mike

Did LGWR generate a trace file for you to examine?

I believe, but would have to research to double check, that if the database can't write redo information that it will shut itself down to prevent data from being lost. It is by design.

Yes it did generate a .trc file in the udump directory but we see no errors in the file.
