hai experts,
here in our firm we have to create the report on how the oracle database to be tuned to increase the performance.being the junior DBA we dont have enough idea on performance to proceed.so could u plz give us the steps like the queries to be used to view the certain parameters based on which tuning holds like wise how to proceed to increase the performance which would be useful for us..?being a urgent issue , plz give the steps to perform in the reply itself as we dont have time to see the documentation and search for the procedures as the position is like that..!sorry for this interruption.thanks in advance.

Yeah, their 10g performance tuning book is an all around good one, to me it is much improved over all previous versions. Definitely worth the time for everyone to read that one cover to cover. I need to check out the 10gR2 version.
It also pretty explicitly moves away from the DKB / Ault approach and embraces the Kyte / Millsap approach.
