I am testing a bit with backup and recovery. Here was my plan.

I have 2 servers. Both servers have oracle 9.2.0.6 running.

Server 1 i shutdown the database and stop all oracle related services. I copy the entire oracle_base directory over to server 2 at the exact same location.

I edit the listner.ora and tnsnames.ora files to make sure the machine name is correct. Then on server 2 i try to start the oracle database. The listner starts and also the oracle service starts.

Only the oraclehomeagent won't start. Can't find an error message.

When i try to logon with sql on server 2 i get the following errorORA-12500 tns listner could not start a dedicated server process.

Both machines are windows server 2000. The difference between them is that they both have different ip adresses and hostnames

Any idea's?
